Skinner Hut location warning 4/2015
This may already be common knowledge, but according to National Geographic's Colorado Map No. 126, Skinner Hut seems to be a few hundred feet below Hagerman Pass Road, off of the ridge. This is NOT the case. Do not waste your time descending the slope just North of Hagerman Pass Road or contouring West from the sharp left turn that the road makes east of the hut looking for the hut, if you are coming from the East. IT IS LOCATED NO MORE THAN 20 YARDS NORTH OF THE ROAD, not long after the road's sharp left turn near the top of the ridge. National Geographic's map is very misleading. We got lucky and stumbled upon the hut.
