How much clearance needed for Harry Gates summer access?

Hi there -

Most things I'm reading are saying High Clearance required but have heard some word of mouth otherwise. How much clearance do you really need to access Harry Gates in Summer? Specifically looking at driving from Basalt via FS Rd 400
