Eiseman approach and ski conditions

Post by pzman »

Hey all - Has anyone been up to Eiseman recently and can comment on the trail conditions for either Spraddle Creek or Red Sandstone? How about the coverage and ski conditions near the hut? I have a trip in a couple weeks so any info appreciated. I am wondering how much walking might be involved on the journey in and out. I have been up there many times, but never in a year this dry.

Thanks much.

I was there 1/25-1/27 and went up Spraddle Creek. There was good coverage, except for on one south facing hill that was covered in ice, not snow, and required a bootpack. Otherwise we were able to skin the whole way in and ski the whole way out, but the lack of snow the past two weeks may have changed that.

Hi, curious if anyone has any more recent experience on the conditions in/out of Eiseman (presumably Spraddle Creek).
Thanks!

Update as of 3/10/26... Nice refresh up top around the hut with the 3/6 storm, but by our Tues 3/10 exit, the ski/skin out (via Spraddle/Middle Creeks) has some maybe 6-7 short bare spots to walk or work around - and note that the bottom 1-ish mile of the road is basically melted out and is a walk. I'm guessing that more will melt out in this latest warm-up that started yesterday. But skiing up by the hut has plenty of coverage and is good. The stuff around the hut got skied pretty hard post-storm, but avy conditions kept people away from the steeper terrain further north from the hut.
