U4GM Holy Sweep Overlap Guide for PoE 3 28 Mirage League

I laughed when 3.28's notes hit my feed. Another melee pass, another promise that "this time it feels good", sure. Then I spent a weekend in Mirage and had to walk it back. Holy Sweep is doing something I honestly didn't expect, and it's the first time in ages I've wanted to practice a melee skill instead of just holding one button. I even ended up browsing poe 1 currency cheap options because once you see the overlap work, you start itching to test gear swaps right away.



Why the New Holy Sweep Feels Different
The basics sound simple on paper: two-hander only now, and it's basically staves or maces if you're serious. You swing, and the hit calls down up to eight holy hammers on the target area. There's built-in phys to lightning conversion and that chunky base damage that makes the tooltip look silly. The real trick, though, is the overlap. If you're standing at the right angle, those hammer impacts stack on the same pack, and it turns "decent clear" into a straight-up delete button. You don't just run through a screen anymore; you step in, swing, step out, and watch the rain land where you set it up.



Learning the Dance in Real Maps
I dropped Cyclone the moment I felt the rhythm click. Not because Cyclone is bad, but because Holy Sweep rewards you for paying attention. The Djinn stuff in astral realms will punish greed fast. You'll feel it the first time you try to face-tank while your hammers are still mid-fall. What worked for me was keeping packs tight, moving half a step to "tilt" the hammer arcs, then letting the overlap do the heavy lifting. I'm on a Juggernaut, mostly because taunt, endurance charges, and not getting randomly folded is worth more than fancy damage spikes when you're living in melee range.



Testing, Hotfix Weirdness, and the Mirage Coin Angle
I got obsessive and ran the same T17 Cemetery ten times just to stop guessing. Same layout, same route, same habits. Once the positioning got consistent, the boss windows felt nasty in a good way—big bursts when the impacts line up, then you reset and do it again. The sneaky part is the Mirage Coin interaction after the hotfix. When I slapped one onto Sweep while running the holy-focused nodes, the arc felt slightly "nudged", like it wanted to land tighter on a single target. I tried it across a bunch of astral runs and it made overlap on bosses way less coin-flip, which is wild because nobody seemed to mention it anywhere.



Keeping the Grind Bearable
The downside is obvious: you'll die while you learn it, and the wish coin hunt can get old when all you want is to try one more support roll and see if the skill breaks in a new way. That's why some players just shortcut the slow parts and grab currency or items from u4gm so they can spend their time actually testing setups, not running the same farm loop on autopilot.
