I've never been there but the shrine Mountain inn is similar and they have hot water and electricity on top of Vail Pass. It's relatively flat and short to get there but there's a lot of snowmobiles around.

The shortest approach and easiest hut I've been to is vance's cabin accessed from ski coopers parking lot and it's only 3 mi. It's full of snowshoers. If you track a mile or two away on the road you can get to some fresh snow and steep enough snow to ski but there's not much good skiing near it. htt...
